When you turn in your form, you will be assigned an adviser who will help you plan out your major or minor. Creative Writing 30 hours Students concentrate on developing their creative writing abilities while acquiring an overview of English literature. The curriculum provides extensive courses in the history of British and American literature, Anglophone literature from other countries, literary theory, and expository as well as Creative Writing.
Declaration of Minor Form Program I: A course cannot be used to satisfy more than one requirement. Three additional hours in electives in English are required, they may be chosen from the courses that count Vanderbilt university creative writing program the major, as described under General Requirements and Advice.
All of these courses may count towards the 18 hours concentration. The form may be completed in Adobe and then printed out for signatures, or printed out and completed by hand. Up to 9 hours may be taken in courses from other departments relevant to the selected concentration.

English Foundations of Literary Studies 3 credit hours may also be taken as an elective. English W, W, or W is required and should be taken in the freshman or sophomore year. Fifteen 15 additional hours of electives in English, chosen from the courses that count toward the major, as described in the section "General Requirements and Advice for majors in all programs" of the Undergraduate Course Catalog.

Specialized Critical Studies 36 hours In coordination with their major adviser, students design their own specialized course of study.
